Ben Calkins was referred to an entrepreneur with a start up business that could be best described as an on-line social utility.
Over a period of time, Ben Calkins consulted extensively with the entrepreneur and assisted him in using the same technology behind the social utility to develop an altogether different business and revenue model related to staffing.
The business, initially Bazman, became Staff Knex.
Through Ben Calkins' introductions, the client obtained funding from a local venture firm, and thereafter raised additional funds from a local angel fund and from another local venture capital firm.
More recently, another venture capital firm that Ben Calkins referred his client to made an investment in Staff Knex.
Ben Calkins assisted not only with all of the tax, corporate and securities related issues relative to the founding and funding of Staff Knex, but with introductions to funding sources and others who have contributed significantly to building a promising business for the client.
