Rick Martinko of Avondale Partners approached Ben Calkins explaining that he had left his position with a local venture capital firm and was looking to make acquisitions for his own account.
After working with him on two deals, which Ben Calkins found for the client but which the client did not ultimately close on, Ben Calkins learned from an accountant friend about a manufacturing business, Heat Seal, Inc., that was going to be available for acquisition. Ben Calkins recommended to the accountant that he show this opportunity to Mr. Martinko. He did, and, as they say, the rest is history.
Avondale closed on this acquisition and is already looking at possible add ons.
